
A man has been arrested after an OAP was killed by a council road sweeping vehicle in Leicester City centre.
The victim, in his 80s, was rushed to hospital but died a few hours after the crash in Holy Bones, Leicester.
A 63-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and has since been released under investigation.
Detectives are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision on 2.15pm on Monday.
DS Mike Steer said: ‘We are working to understand exactly how the collision occurred following the sad news that the man died in hospital last night.

‘The vehicle involved was a Leicester City Council road sweeper.
‘We are in contact with colleagues in the council and they are assisting us with our investigation.’
