PHOTOS: Loop’s iconic weather bell back in action

Look up: The long-dormant Bell Federal Savings weather sign outside the Rector Building, 79 W. Monroe St., is now back in action.

The 1950s sign that features a lighted, acrylic bell that changes color according to anticipated weather conditions has been restored. But now, it carries the name “Bellwether,” in honor of the Bellwether Residences now occupying the Downtown building.
