Police seek dark-colored Chevrolet sedan in fatal Aurora hit-and-run

Aurora police are looking for a dark-colored Chevrolet sedan whose driver is suspected of hitting and killing a pedestrian on East Hampden Avenue the morning of Oct. 1.

A man pushing a shopping cart was hit by an eastbound vehicle on East Hampden, just east of South Picadilly Road, shortly after 6 a.m., according to the Aurora Police Department. The driver did not stop and may have kept driving toward Gun Club Road.

The man later died from his injuries. His name has not been released by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.

The vehicle involved is likely a Chevy sedan, such as an Impala, Malibu or Cruze, Aurora police said Wednesday.

It likely has damage to the front passenger side and parts of the vehicle were found at the scene.

Anyone with information about the case or who was in the area around 5:30 a.m. or later on Oct. 1 can contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
