Police shooting reported near Palisades Tahoe ski resort; no word on injuries

LAKE TAHOE — A law enforcement officer was involved in a shooting near the Palisades Tahoe ski resort on Friday morning, according to authorities.

In a post to social media, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office said it was working with California State Parks to investigate a shooting involving an officer at the Olympic Village Inn. There was no danger to the public following the shooting, the sheriff’s office said.

Authorities did not say whether the officer had shot a civilian or if the officer had been shot by someone else.

No other details were immediately made available.
