Starbucks is feeling the love with the return of Pumpkin Spice Latte on its fall menu.
“It smells like my house in the fall. Perfect,” lifestyle superstar Martha Stewart says in a promotional video with actor Belmont Cameli. In another clip, Stewart savors ingredients in the beverage: cinnamon, nutmeg and whipped cream.
The Seattle-based coffee giant first tested Pumpkin Spice Latte in 2003 and rolled it out nationally in 2004, making coffee history. It got a trademark for the initials PSL in 2015.
Starbucks often sees a big bump in sales when PSL goes on sale, according to news reports. This year, it’s one of the last major coffee chains to offer pumpkin products.

Starbucks’ fall menu includes PSL, hot or iced, along with a couple of new beverages: Pumpkin Cream Shaken Espresso and Iced Pumpkin Cream Matcha. Returning beverages include Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew and Iced Pumpkin Spice Chai.
Other flavors include Iced Pecan Crunch Latte, Pecan Cortado and two banana bread beverages: Iced Banana Bread Chai and Iced Banana Bread Latte.
Snacks include a new Hedgehog Cake Pop and a Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin. starbucks.com
Dunkin’s fall menu came out on Aug. 19 with its own Pumpkin Spice Signature Latte, an espresso called Pumpkin Cloud Dunkalatte, a Pumpkin Patch Cloud Latte, a Nutty Pumpkin Protein Latte and a Pumpkin Pie Coffee Chiller with marshmallow cold foam.
There’s also a collaboration with influencer Alix Earle on breakfast items such as a Sausage, Egg and Cheese Hash Brown Wake-Up Wrap. dunkindonuts.com
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf’s fall menu, also released on Aug. 19, includes a Pumpkin Iced Latte with Cream Cap, a Pumpkin Dry Iced Americano and an espresso called Pumpkin Extreme Ice Blended Drink. coffeebean.com
