Rain delays I-25 construction; more overnight closures scheduled in Douglas County

Construction originally planned for earlier this week on Interstate 25 in Douglas County was delayed by rain, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

The construction will now shut down multiple I-25 lanes and ramps overnight on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, according to a news release from the agency. All closures are scheduled to lift by 6 a.m. the following morning.

During the last night of scheduled construction, on Sunday, drivers will see double left lane closures on northbound and southbound I-25 from C-470 to Castle Pines Parkway starting at 8 p.m., CDOT officials said.

The overnight construction is expected to cause up to 20-minute delays on the highway between 6 and 10 p.m. on each of the three nights, according to the agency.
