RB Kyle Monangai, WR Rome Odunze on Bears’ first injury report of Packers week

Two of the Bears‘ most important offensive players appeared on the team’s first injury report of Packers week on Wednesday.

The Bears did not practice Wednesday but offered an estimated injury report, based in part on their players’ participation Tuesday. Receiver Rome Odunze (foot) and running back Kyle Monangai (ankle) would not have practiced at all had the team held a practice Wednesday.

Cornerback Tyrique Stevenson remains out with a shoulder injury.

Linebacker T.J. Edwards would have been limited as he recovers from hamstring and hand injuries. Fellow linebacker Noah Sewell would have been a full participant as he comes back from an elbow injury that cost him the last two games, while Ruben Hyppolite II would have missed practice with a shoulder injury he suffered against the Steelers.

Sitting out a theoretical practice could be a case of maintenance for Odunze and Monangai — the Bears have typically given players the first practice of the week off if they have lingering injuries. Odunze has been dealing with a heel issue for the past month or so.

Odunze didn’t practice Tuesday, while Edwards and Sewell returned for the first time since getting hurt.

The Packers held a practice Wednesday and did not have participation from defensive end Lukas Van Ness or receiver Savion Williams. Defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt is out with a broken ankle.

Odunze has an injured foot.
Edwards is expected to be able to play through a broken hand; his hamstring injury is a bigger concern.
Williams’ 95.2 passer rating there last season was the second-best by a Bears starting quarterback at Lambeau since 2008, trailing only a 2023 performance by Justin Fields in which he threw the ball only 16 times.
