Human remains have been found in the search for a woman who went missing 15 years ago after allegedly being murdered.

Three people were arrested earlier this week on suspicion of killing Izabela Zablocka, who was 30 years old when she vanished in Derby in 2010.

The suspects include two women aged 39 and 43 respectively, and a 41-year-old man, all of whom remain on bail pending further inquiries.

Izabela had moved to the UK from Poland a year earlier, and had been working at a meat processing in Scropton when her family stopped hearing from her.

It’s understood her family made efforts to trace her but never reported her missing to UK authorities.

An investigation was launched after a missing persons report was made to Derbyshire Police last week.

The force made an appeal for information and began tracing her last known movements.

Searches were carried out at an address in Princes Street, Normanton, where human remains were found in the garden.

Detectives say she had been living on the street though did not confirm if this was the same address.

‘Whilst formal identification has not yet taken place, it is our belief that these remains do belong to Izabela,’ Detective Inspector Kane Martin said.

The Crimestoppers charity is offering a £20,000 reward for any information which leads to a conviction in the case.

A dedicated team of detectives are continuing to piece together information about the days prior to Izabela’s death.

DI Martin continued: ‘Izabela had friends in Derby, socialised in Derby, and worked in Derby.

‘We know that someone out there will have information about Izabela that may help us understand what happened to her, and urge anyone who saw, spoke to, or heard anything about Izabela in July or August 2010 to come forward.

‘You may hold the key piece of information that we need to understand the full circumstances of Izabela’s disappearance, and to give her family answers on what happened to their loved one.’
