Rose Parade 2027 float designs are starting to set sail. See this one from Princess Cruises

It’s only August, but Jan. 1 is beckoning for the Tournament of Roses.

The Rose float designs are starting to come in.

Princess Cruises has unveiled the company’s grandiose Rose Parade float design, showcasing four iconic cruise destinations for the 2027 Tournament of Roses theme, “Welcome.”

Returning for the second consecutive year, the Princess float will highlight the cultures and landscapes of their popular destinations – Alaska, Japan, Australia, and Europe – in the cruise line’s spin on the theme: “Welcome Aboard – Find Your Story.”

“Every destination we visit is unique, and every guest finds stories they share again and again.” said Marie Lee, Princess Cruises chief marketing officer, in a statement. “We’re honored to bring that same spirit of discovery and belonging to this year’s Rose Parade. For 60 years, Princess’ global fleet has welcomed travelers to extraordinary places, creating lasting memories through meaningful journeys across the world’s most remarkable cultures and destinations.”

From Alaska’s breathtaking wilderness and tranquil Japanese scenery to the Sydney Opera House and coastlines of Europe, the float will feature more than 320,000 flowers, leaves, and other natural materials to bring the global locations to life.

The float, designed and built by Artistic Entertainment Services, will measure approximately 55 feet long and 22 feet high, and feature spectacular animation that captures the spirit of cruise travel.

“The Rose Parade has always been about bringing people together through creativity, community and shared traditions,” said Terry Madigan, 2027 Pasadena Tournament of Roses president. “Princess Cruises embodies this year’s theme ‘Welcome’ – by bringing people together to celebrate shared experiences and the warmth of making everyone feel welcome. We’re delighted to have Princess Cruises back for a second consecutive year and look forward to sharing their inspiring message as part of our New Year’s Day celebration.”

The 138th Rose Parade will take place January 1, 2027 along Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena, drawing approximately 800,000 spectators and more than tens of millions of television viewers.
