San Carlos: Man arrested in armed robbery with knife and metal pipe, authorities say


Authorities arrested a man suspected of robbing another man after accosting him with a knife and a metal pipe in San Carlos on Saturday morning, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said.

The alleged robbery happened around 11 a.m. in the 1100 block of Old County Road, according to the sheriff’s office.

The suspect forced the backpack from the victim after brandishing the knife and swinging the pipe at him, authorities said. The victim was not injured.

The victim called emergency dispatchers during the robbery, and deputies arrived in time to arrest the suspect and return the victim’s backpack.
