San Jose police offer $10,000 for information leading to arrest of homicide suspect

SAN JOSE — Authorities are offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the apprehension and extradition of a suspect in a 2021 homicide.

Suspect Uatesoni Joseph Paasi is believed to be on the run in Baja, Mexico after allegedly fatally shooting a man in a dispute over a parking spot, according to a press release from the San Jose Police Department. The victim, 33-year-old Marco Antonio Santos, was killed in front of his wife and two of his four children.

Around 7:46 p.m. on June 4, 2021, officers responded to reports of a person who had been shot in the proximity of 4100 The Woods Drive, police said.

Police found an adult man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was later pronounced deceased at the scene, authorities said.

In their investigation, authorities found that the man had been shot by the suspect in front of his family following a dispute over a parking spot.

There is a warrant out for Paasi’s arrest. Authorities added that he is considered to be armed and dangerous.

The incident was San Jose’s 19th homicide of 2021.
