SAN MATEO — A man was arrested Thursday after a hit-and-run collision in San Mateo left a man in critical condition, according to authorities.
Police received a report of a hit-and-run at 4:57 p.m. in the intersection of East Hillsdale Boulevard and Curtiss Street, just a few residential blocks from the Hillsdale Shopping Center. Responding officers found a 41-year-old man with multiple injuries, authorities said.
Witnesses described the suspect vehicle, a white Toyota Tacoma, and gave officers the truck’s license plate number. The truck was spotted driving north on El Camino Real just moments later. Officers then located and arrested the driver on suspicion of hit-and-run resulting in injury.

The victim remained in critical condition as of midday Friday, according to police.
In a news release Friday, police said they’re searching for surveillance video of the incident. Individuals who may have home-security footage of the event were encourage to submit videos to the San Mateo police website.
