Sean Lampkin, “Martin” actor, dead at 54

Sean Lampkin, an actor best known for his role as bar owner Nipsey on the 1990s sitcom MartinHe died at the age of 54.

Marsel Watts, a friend of the actor, broke the news on Facebook last Wednesday. “My boyfriend, last roommate for 10 years, father and family man, brother, skate buddy, business partner and coach passed away this morning. RIP Sean Lampkin,” she wrote.

Memnar Grayton later shared that the comedic talent died in his sleep.

“Sean gave us the bright sun each morning to lead his loved ones and friends down paths that are bright and free from danger. He has been giving us streams of love every day when we are down or don’t seem to want to do anything,” he wrote beings.

“But the thought of his loud laugh and adorable smile made you turn any negative thoughts into positive ones,” Grayton added. “He’s such a man. He gave us his time and effort for situations he had no idea about but was there to support us on the cause. He gave us his emotions when a family or friend needed sympathy or empathy for their emotional situations.”

Stand-up Guy Torry also paid tribute to Lampkin, sharing a carousel on Instagram with photos of the two comics hanging with colleagues like Dave Chappelle.

“Rest in POWER brother! My husband #SeanLampkin was called home. #MartinShow #Nipseys What an underrated funny and GOOD guy,” Torry wrote.
