A fundraiser has been launched for a mother described as “the light of every party” who was beaten to death earlier this month in a building in Englewood on the South Side.
The GoFundMe fundraiser for 34-year-old Terryn Winters was launched by her older sister Tanika Jackson following her death.
Winters died of multiple injuries from an assault inside a building in the 7000 block of South Normal Boulevard about 4:10 p.m. on Dec. 9, Chicago police said. Winters was dead on the scene and her death was ruled a homicide.
Jackson described her as “the light of every party” on the fundraiser page. She is survived by a son, according to the page. As of Friday afternoon, $410 of the family’s $5,500 goal has been raised.
“She was loved dearly and her son was her everything and she was his,” Jackson, the organizer of the page, wrote.
No arrests have been made.
