Shooters on motorcycle kill woman, injure 2 teens in Back of the Yards

Two shooters riding a motorcycle opened fire more than 30 times, killing a woman inside of parked car and badly injuring two passengers Tuesday afternoon in Back of the Yards, according to Chicago police.

An 18-year-old man and 16-year-old boy were in a parked car with a woman, 26, at 3:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of West 50th Street when a motorcycle drove up alongside them and both the driver and passenger of the motorcycle fired shots at them, police said.

After the car then crashed into a parked vehicle, the two wounded teens fled north on Wood Street before collapsing near 49th Street.

The still-unidentified woman was shot in the back and was pronounced dead at 4:01 p.m. at the University of Chicago Medical Center, police said. The 16-year-old, shot in his left arm and leg and was in critical condition and the 18-year-old was shot in his right hip and was in serious condition, also at the University of Chicago Medical Center, police said.

Detectives recovered 31 shell casings

No one is in custody.
