A suspect was in custody after allegedly firing a gun while aboard a Metro A (Blue) Line train in Long Beach on Monday morning, Sept. 7, leading to a service disruption as police investigated, authorities said.
No one was hit by the gunfire.
But Metro A Line service was temporarily stopped from Willow Street to Anaheim Street, according to LA Metro.
The shooting occurred just after 9:50 a.m. in the area of Long Beach Boulevard and Pacific Coast Highway, Long Beach police spokeswoman Andrea Moran said.
Officers arrived and found both the suspect and a firearm, Moran said.
Trains at Willow were turned back toward Pomona, LA Metro said, while trains at Anaheim Street were turned back to downtown Long Beach.
Further information about the suspect and what prompted the gunfire was unclear.
