The Six Flags Magic Mountain skyline will soon be changing again as progress continues on a first-of-its-kind roller coaster that will take thrill seekers on an off-road motorcycle ride over rugged hillside terrain at the Valencia amusement park in 2026.
Screamscape reports roller coaster support beams have begun arriving at a staging area for Magic Mountain’s “next big project.”
“We are thrilled that fans celebrate when even a piece of track received to the park elicits excitement, as we saw with a recent delivery of support beams,” according to Six Flags Magic Mountain officials. “We look forward to sharing details and progress updates soon. There is so much more to come.”

Magic Mountain announced plans in November 2024 to bolster its collection of 19 roller coasters with a new first-of-its-kind thrill ride in North America.
Magic Mountain initially announced the new coaster would debut in 2026 as part of Six Flags’ plan to spend $1 billion on new rides.

The Los Angeles County Planning Department approved construction permits for the new roller coaster in January, according to county records.
Blueprints for Project 90011 variously described the new ride as a “Six Flags Vekoma Coaster” or “Six Flags Thrill Glider Roller Coaster.”
The Vekoma Thrill Glider would be a suspended motorbike coaster — a new model from the Dutch ride maker.
The former Golden Bear Theater was demolished to clear 3.4 acres for the new straddle-style coaster.
Work has stalled since the initial site clearing, leading to concerns the new Magic Mountain coaster project could be delayed, according to Screamscape.
Magic Mountain would need to have begun installing the coaster track and supports by now if the park hoped to open the new ride by summer 2026. A late 2026 opening remains a possibility.
