Coach Tyler Marsh enters his second season with a new staff. The Sky hired Kelly Faris and Jhared Simpson as assistant coaches, the team announced.
Faris was an assistant last season with the Noblesville Boom, the Indiana Pacers’ G League affiliate. She also played for the Connecticut Sun from 2013 to 2016 before continuing her career overseas in Hungary, Australia, Israel, Austria and Iceland.
Simpson spent last season with the Wings as director of player development. Prior to Dallas, he spent four seasons as an assistant coach with the Fever. He also has NBA G League experience and served as an assistant coach for Rose BC in Unrivaled.
The Sky had already added Latricia Trammell, the former Wings head coach, as an assistant in November.
They needed to replace two of their top assistants from last season. Tanisha Wright, formerly the Dream head coach, accepted the head coaching position at Penn State. Courtney Paris moved on to join the Liberty’s coaching staff as an assistant.
Returning to staff will be: Rena Wakama (assistant coach), David Simon (director of player development), Aaron Johnson (player development coach) and Can Özbalkan (director of video services). Marsh’s father, Donnie Marsh, will also return as a basketball operations specialist.
