Small plane crashes in field near Larkspur

A small plane crashed in a field near Larkspur on Sunday morning, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 8 a.m. about a small airplane that had crashed in a field east of Interstate 25, near the Larkspur exit and mile marker 173, according to an X post.

Emergency personnel had to enter the field and cross a creek to reach the crash site, according to the sheriff’s office. When deputies reached the site, two occupants had already exited the plane. Both people were taken to a hospital with unknown injuries, according to the post.

First responders are cleaning up a small fuel leak and two lanes of northbound I-25 are closed near the Larkspur exit, according to the sheriff’s office.
