Splash pad reopens on sizzling day in Panorama City

Los Angeles City Councilwoman Imelda Padilla declared, in effect, let the splashing begin.

The city Parks and Recreation Department on Friday celebrated the reopening of the splash pad at Panorama Recreation Center, restoring a popular cooling spot for families in one of the San Fernando Valley’s hottest neighborhoods.

Speakers at the event included Padilla, Recreation and Parks Assistant General Manager Chinyere Stoneham and Panorama City Neighborhood Council member Tony Wilkinson.

The timing was ideal, as the weeklong heat wave continued, though cooler days were expected for the weekend.
