Sueños 2025: Bag policy, transit options, entry rules and more

Sueños returns to Chicago for Memorial Day weekend (May 24-25), and this year’s lineup includes Shakira, Peso Pluma, Don Omar and Grupo Frontera.

More than 40 local and globally recognized artists will perform at the two-day festival in Grant Park. Last year, more than 60,000 people attended the event.

This year’s fest includes the addition of two more stages, including “La Plaza,” which is inspired by Latin American city centers, according to a festival spokesperson. Two Chicago-based regional Mexican bands, Los K-Bros and LeManz, will perform at the special stage.

The Museum of Contemporary Art is also collaborating with Chicago-based artist Esperanza “Runsy” Rosas for a special edition Sueños t-shirt available only in the MCA’s online store for $40.

Additional artist installations, activations, food vendors and activities will be available onsite.

Here’s what to know if you’re attending Sueños Music Festival in 2025:

Bag policy

All bags are subject to a search at the gates, according to festival organizers.

Clear bags must not exceed 12” x 6” x 12” in size, and bags that are not clear are allowed, but they cannot be larger than 6″ x 9″ or have more than one pocket.

Hydration packs are allowed, but they must be empty. They cannot have more than two pockets, but aren’t required to be clear.

Getting to the festival grounds

Public transport: Taking the CTA or Metra trains is the easiest way to get to Sueños and avoid heavy traffic. The Green, Pink, Brown, Blue, Orange and Red lines all have stops in the Loop within walking distance of Grant Park.

If taking the Red Line, you can exit at the Jackson, Harrison, or Roosevelt stations.

Driving: The festival does not recommend driving into the festival due to road closures and heavy traffic going to and from downtown.

Parking is available at a discounted rate for the weekend online via Millennium Garages, which encompasses four large garages within walking distance of the park. Daily parking is available starting at $20.

Biking: There will be a complimentary bike valet for those riding into the festival on personal bicycles. Located near the Buckingham Fountain, the parking lot will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

There are several Divvy bike stations within walking distance of the park along Michigan Avenue at 8th St., Ida B. Wells Dr. and Jackson Blvd., too.

Rideshare: The official pick-up and drop-off location for Lyft, Uber and other ride-sharing services is located at 11th St. and State St.
