Taylor Crabb and Andy Benesh completed a sweep of the AVP heritage events Sunday, winning the AVP Laguna Beach Open with a 21-15, 21-19 win over Trevor Crabb and and Chase Buddinger in the finals.
Taylor Crabb and Benesh also won the Manhattan Beach Open in August and the Huntington Beach Open in May this year after teaming up to start the season.
Taylor Crabb had 22 kills and 15 digs in the finals.
In the women’s bracket, No. 4 seed Madelyne Anderson and Alaina Chacon topped No. 3 seed Coradello Thâmela and Lopes Victoria in the finals, 21-19, 21-15.
Top seeded Kelly Cheng and Megan Craft were knocked out by No. 9 seed Chloe Loreen and Corinne Quiggle on Saturday. Anderson and Chacon beat Thâmela and Victoria in a three-set battle the quarterfinals.
Anderson and Chacon then beat Molly Shaw and Devanne Sours in the semifinals in another three-set match to reach the finals.
