A teen is facing attempted murder charges stemming from a South Shore shooting in September, according to Chicago police.
The 16-year-old boy, who wasn’t identified because he is a minor, faces an attempted second-degree murder charge, as well as vehicular hijacking and unlawful use of a weapon, police said.
Another 16-year-old boy and a 34-year-old woman were standing outside around 10 a.m. in the 6700 block of South Cregier Avenue on Sept. 7 when a car pulled up and someone inside the car opened fire. The boy was shot three times and the woman was shot twice in the leg, according to police.
They were both taken to University of Chicago Medical Center where the boy was in critical condition and the woman was in fair condition.
The teen’s next court date was not yet available.
