The 2025 Lexus LX 700h Ultra Luxury SUV

What is a LX 700h? The LX 700h is a full size SUV built in the Toyota Aichi, Japan assembly plant and sold worldwide by Lexus. The 2025 LX 700h Ultra Luxury is the hybrid version of Lexus’s flagship SUV, offering a combination of luxury, performance and off-road capability. It features a 3.4L twin turbo V6 gas engine paired with an electric motor, producing a combined 457 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque. The Ultra Luxury trim adds features like an ultra high end interior with advanced technology, enhanced comfort and convenience accessories.

The key features of the 2025 Lexus LX 700h Ultra Luxury SUV are:

Hybrid Powertrain: The LX 700h utilizes a hybrid system that combines a twin turbocharged V6 engine with an electric motor, delivering more power and improved fuel economy compared to the gas only LX 600.

Off Road Capability: With features like multi terrain select, crawl control, and an air suspension system, the LX 700h can drive over all kinds of roads with ease.

Luxury Interior: The Ultra Luxury trim offers a top tier interior with features like leather covered, power, heated and ventilated seats, and a Mark Levinson premium edition surround sound audio system with 25 perfectly placed speakers.

Advanced Technology: The LX 700h has a 12.3″ inch infotainment screen, a digital rearview mirror and various driver assistance and safety systems.

Towing Capacity: The LX 700h can tow up to 8,000 pounds, making it very capable of handling various sized campers, trailers, boats and recreational vehicles.

In comparison to the Lexus LX 600, the Lexus LX 700h offers a hybrid powertrain with more horsepower and torque, and the hybrid system provides a slight improvement in fuel economy compared to the LX 600. The LX 700h shares the same body and interior dimensions as the Toyota Land Cruiser, as it’s the luxury model in the Lexus lineup.

This week, Lexus sent me a 2025 LX 700h SUV to test drive and review. The base window sticker price for this Ultra Luxury edition is $140,000. The options on the test SUV are: none. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP), including the $1,350 delivery charge, is: $141,350.

After adding in the state and local sales tax, plus the DMV and dealer fees, the out the door and in your driveway total purchase price came to $159,019. At just $19 bucks over $159 Grand, you get a top tier ultra luxury Lexus SUV, that competes directly with the other big buck brands like BMW, Cadillac, Maserati, Mercedes Benz and Land Rover.

If you’re looking for a luxury SUV in the $150,000 range, several manufacturers offer models and trim levels that fall near this price point. The Mercedes Benz G class starts at $149,400 and goes up to $163,700, depending on trim and options. The Range Rover has a starting MSRP of $107,900, with higher trims exceeding $150,000. The BMW X5 M has a starting price of $124,800, and the BMW X7 is a larger luxury SUV with models priced around $149,400. The Cadillac Escalade V has a starting MSRP of $164,695, and the Maserati Levante starts at $102,000, with higher trims that can exceed $150,000. This Ultra Luxury class is filled with great big SUV’s at great big prices.

The 2025 Lexus LX 700h Ultra Luxury SUV is a strong contender in this full size luxury SUV segment, particularly for those seeking a blend of luxury and hybrid technology. While it does have a high price tag, it offers a nice combination of performance, tech, and off road capability, plus the LX’s 700h has features like a waterproof hybrid battery enclosure and electric motor only drive power in low range.

Overall, the 2025 Lexus LX 700h Ultra Luxury SUV is a great buy for those seeking a luxurious, capable, and hybrid SUV, as it offers a unique blend of power and comfort that buyers are looking for in something beyond the typical full size luxury SUV. Lexus is also known for its reliability and the LX 700h is expected to continue that tradition.
