Brabus Marine just supercharged its 38-foot gullwing dayboat. Debuting at the 2026 Cannes Yachting Festival, the refreshed Shadow 1000 XC Cross Cabin’s name says a lot about the sleek watercraft.
Those familiar with naming conventions of Brabus’s automotive builds might be able to decode “Shadow 1000.” “Shadow” refers to the black and/or gray colorway that made its way onto the $1.2 million Bodo supercar from the German aftermarket specialist’s “Masterpiece” collection. Meanwhile, “1000” refers to a 1,000-horsepower output courtesy of twin supercharged Mercury 500R V8 outboard engines, good for atop speed of 60 knots (69 mph).
“XC Cross Cabin” is a bit of a redundant boat term inherited from Axopar—the award-winning Finish boatbuilder behind Brabus Marine’s entire range. It refers to a fully enclosed pilothouse/cabin with gullwing-style doors that slide open on both sides, endowing the weather-protected structure of an enclosed cabin with an open-air option under good conditions. Inside, it typically has an L-shaped sofa and table for socializing, with an open aft deck behind it.
At the helm is an advanced navigation and control setup comprising twin 16-inch Simrad NSS EVO4 multifunction displays for direct access to key navigation and vessel data, a HALO 20+ radar, FLIR 360-degree night vision, a rearview camera, and advanced echo-sounder technology.
Operation is supported by systems including joystick-controlled trim tabs and a bow thruster with Joystick Piloting for Outboards (JPO) integration, providing precise control during maneuvering and docking. A Brabus Premium Audio system, configurable RGB ambient lighting, and dual-color underwater lights extend the technology package beyond the helm, while air conditioning supports onboard comfort in the cabin.
A distinctive Black Ops exterior features carbon-fiber accents and the brand’s signature dark surface finishes, along with several elements redesigned for the new model year, including the LED roof-light configuration. The dark exterior is complemented by Graphite and Brabus’s lighter-hued “Moonstone” colorway. Glossy carbon details are present throughout the cabin, as are red accents that add further visual contrast.
