‘The Moment’ Trailer: Charli XCX Stars In Pop Mockumentary Based On Her ‘Brat’ Era

A24 has released the official trailer for The Moment, a winking mockumentary starring pop sensation Charli XCX that seeks to skewer the complexities of fame. The Aidan Zamiri-directed film, which premieres at Sundance 2026, follows Charli as she navigates industry pressure while preparing for her arena tour debut. Featuring a celeb-studded cast that includes everyone from Rachel Sennott to Alexander Skarsgård to Kylie Jenner, the trailer quickly gets meta on the pop star-making machine.

“Don’t you just think the whole, like, ‘Keep having a Brat Summer!’ thing is a bit cringe?” Charli is seen asking early in the trailer while promoting her album. Later, there’s another comical beat questioning the nature of “metaphorical cocaine.” The cast also includes Rosanna Arquette, Kate Berlant, Jamie Demetriou, Arielle Dombasle, Hailey Benton Gates, Trew Mullen, Mel Ottenberg, Richard Perez, Tish Weinstock, Michael Workéyè, Shygirl, and A. G. Cook.

It’s the first of several upcoming film projects from the British hitmaker and former Maxim cover star. She’s reportedly starring in a feature from Japanese horror director Takashi Miike and has roles in forthcoming flicks The GalleristI Want Your SexSacrifice and Faces of Death.

Director and co-writer Zamiri, who is making his feature debut, previously helmed Charli’s “360” music video as well as videos for Billie Eilish, Yung Lean, and FKA Twigs. The Moment hits theaters on January 30, 2026. Watch the trailer below.
