The new Nike Hyperslide doesn’t just bring its trademark Air Zoom cushioning to one of its easy-on sandal silhouettes for the first time—it marks the athleticwear giant’s first true recovery slide, implementing technology that boosts it right to the top of the category.
Created in partnership with Hyperice—a recovery and wellness company that previously collaborated with Nike on the massaging high-top Hyperboot—the revitalizing footwear was designed “to help athletes easily unwind from the ground up after sport, training, travel and everything in between.”
The feat of pedal restoration is made possible by a removable, magnetic Hyperslide Pod housed within the slide’s adjustable strap. The unit delivers three levels of heat (reaching 117 degrees Fahrenheit) and three levels of vibration in 15-minute recovery cycles that can be customized via on-pod controls or through a connection to the Hyperice App. The warming and massaging capability—combined with the plush comfort of a low-profile, full-length Air Zoom sole—are designed to reduce tension, relax feet, and support everyday recovery.
“Athletes leave everything on the field, and the approach to recovery needs to meet them at the same level,” said Tobie Hatfield, Nike’s Senior Director of Athlete Innovation. “With the Nike Air Zoom Hyperslide, we wanted to create a solution that kickstarts recovery the moment you power it up—helping athletes feel more relaxed, restored and ready to take their performance to the next level.”
“It’s the combination that stands out,” added Virgil van Dijk, captain of both the Premier League club Liverpool and Netherlands national soccer teams. “The Hyperice heat and vibration help my feet recover as quickly as possible, while the Nike Air Zoom cushioning makes it feel incredibly comfortable.”
Priced from $249, the Nike Air Zoom Hyperslide will be available beginning September 29 at nike.com, hyperice.com, and select retail locations globally.
