The baseball season is in its last few crucial weeks and football season is starting up, so you need to get off your couch and find a place to watch all the action.
Well, we’ve scored a list of five top sports bars in the area to get together with other fans and watch all the upcoming action. The bars range from busy party spots to places near where the pros play and even a legendary bar that’s part sports museum.
Best Ball

Best Ball might just be one of the best sports bars around. It’s located on a public golf course in case you want to hit the links before or after watching pro athletes do their thing. There are nearly 40 4K screens all around and themed rooms like The Halftime Room, which comes with 14 private TVs for viewing parties, plus the Bunker and Counter rooms. For some sunshine, there are two outdoor patios to set up tailgate parties. And with one of the bar’s mottos being “Every League, Every Team,” you can watch every major sport broadcast on TV, from local to national to international to niche stuff. And if you don’t see it, just ask for it and the staff will find it.

Legends Sports Bar

Yes, this Belmont Shore spot really is a legendary sports bar thanks in part to its enormous projection screen entertainment system located right in the middle of the always busy bar. It’s got a good pedigree too since it was launched in 1979 by former Los Angeles Rams offensive lineman Dennis Harrah. Besides the jumbo TV, there are dozens of TVs all around playing all sorts of sports and after games it turns into a sort of sporty club with DJs spinning tunes. Legends is also a bit of a museum since through the years it has amassed a collection of sports memorabilia that includes more than 100 authentic autographed baseballs signed by legends like Ted Williams, Willie Mays, Stan “The Man” Musial, Micky Mantle, Joe DiMaggio, Ty Cobb and yes, even Babe Ruth. There’s also a collection of autographed jerseys from NBA and NFL stars plus Shaquille O’Neal’s autographed size 23 shoes. The menu is an All-Star too with dishes like chicken and waffles served all day, ribs and even ceviche.
The Nile Bar

When it comes to the Nile Bar, it’s all about location, location, location. That’s because this city gem is located about a mile or so from the Kia Forum and SoFi Stadium, so sports fans come here to pre-party before games and party after games, or if they don’t have tickets they just stay for the games and watch them on the various screens, including a jumbo TV at the bar. With a sleek modern bar and a sign outside emblazoned with a martini glass, the place has a more sophisticated look than you would expect from a sports bar, but yes, at its core it’s all about sports here — oh and food too. Try the house shrimp sliders or the fried salmon bites drizzled with house-made honey sauce.

Tom’s Watch Bar

No matter when you go, or whether there’s a big game happening or not, this place is always a lively party spot, since it’s located on the L.A. Live complex. With a corner street view of the busy Figueroa corridor, sports fans have a 360-degree view of about 100 or so TVs playing every sport. But besides having all the football games coming up, the place is billed as a Dodgers bar, too. However, the bar shows games from other teams as well, including, for some reason, the Giants. But it’s nearly October, so there is very little chance of seeing the Giants on TV.
Watch Me Sports Bar

This sports bar is more than just about getting together to cheer on your favorite team, this Long Beach place has a mission. Opened in 2024, the bar celebrates female athletes by focusing primarily on women’s sports. So, according to the owners, around 95% of the bars’ more than two dozen 26 flat-screen TVs will be playing women’s sports games. But it’s also a Dodger bar and a place for football fans since it also carries men’s sports. Plus the menu’s a winner with offerings like a hefty breakfast burger for those watching early morning games, and of course wings, sliders and mocktails too.
