A THIEF was caught on camera nicking a large model dinosaur from the kids’ section of a library.
Staff first hoped the 2ft 9in T-rex — described as “blue with plentiful teeth” — had been hidden in a cupboard.
But they checked CCTV and saw the masked culprit escaping with the dino under his arm.
The Norwich library put up wanted posters saying: “Missing Dino — a cry for help for our murderous missing friend.”
And the publication of the CCTV image led to a flood of jokes on Norfolk Police’s Facebook page.
One joker quipped: “Doyouthinktheysaurus.”
Another said: “Library rules, he has to bring it back after 3 weeks.”
A third wrote: “Someone asked Santa for a dinosaur this year.
“He’s going all out to make it happen. Great dad.”
But a fourth asked: “How did they walk out of there holding that and not get seen by any staff or anyone questioning it lol?”
The theft happened at 12.15pm on November 17.
Police urged anyone who recognises the man or has any information to get in touch.
