L.A. Cancer Challenge 5K Run/Walk: The 27th annual event benefits the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, Oct. 27. Join or form a team or do the challenge as an individual. Children’s Hospital Halloween Greeting Card Drive: Choose a card from the website (three design choices and patients color the cards after receiving) and write a message to a child in the hospital. Website gives guidelines for writing a message. Cards will be printed out and hand-delivered with a “goody bag” by a member of the CHLA’s Child Life team. Forneris Farms – Happiness Is…a Corn Maze!: Celebrating the 75th anniversary of Charles Schulz’s “Peanuts” comic strip, Peanuts Worldwide selected the Mission Hills-based Forneris Farms (one of more than 75 farms in North America to be selected) to create a “Peanuts” maze.
