A man was wounded while driving with a woman and child Friday afternoon after he and another driver got into an argument that led to a shooting, Thornton police say.
Officers responded to 104th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard at about 5:50 p.m. on a report of a shooting, according to a police social media post.
Investigators believe the argument between the two escalated when the suspect — described as a short, “chubby” Hispanic male with long hair — drew a handgun and shot the man in the arm.
The suspect fled in a red or maroon Jeep Grand Cherokee, while the man was taken to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Thornton Police Department spokesperson Kylynn McTague said police were still seeking the shooter as of Saturday morning.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the department at 720-977-5069 or Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
