Met Police is on high alert with more than a thousand officers drafted in as two large-scale protests are underway in London today.
The ‘Unite the Kingdom’ march organised by the far-right activist Robinson is snarling towards Whitehall, where speeches are expected outside Down Street.
Meanwhile, thousands of people have shown up for the Stand Up To Racism counter-demonstration, which will move from Russell Square to the northern end of Whitehall.
Footage shows thousands of Robinson supporters draped in St George’s and Union Jack flags.
Chants of ‘Charlie, Charlie’ were also heard while a picture of the killed right-wing activist was held up.
