Tournament of Roses announces parade float judges

Somebody has to judge the floats.

The Tournament of Roses on Sept. 12 announced it judges for the upcoming 136th Rose Parade, on Jan. 1.

Morgan Anderson, Bill Brzeski and Drew Rios will be the judges who will evaluate the Rose Parade floats for the 2025 Float Awards.

Tournament officials said each judge brings a unique perspective — whether it’s in botanical artistry and floristry education, Hollywood set design or innovative floral creations.

The 2025 Float Awards will be announced at 6 a.m. on New Year’s Day, right before the Rose Parade gets going.

Each year, they select 24 float awards, highlighting the top winners in three categories: Float Design, Floral Presentation and Entertainment Value.

They look for innovative designs and great execution, which showcase floral artistry and creativity.

It all must align with this year’s theme, “Best Day Ever!”

The big fish is the Sweepstakes Trophy, given to the most beautiful entry encompassing float design, floral presentation and entertainment.
