President Donald Trump said the US will not assassinate Iran’s supreme leader – ‘at least for now’ – as he abruptly departed a global meeting.
Trump left the Group of Seven (G7) summit in Canada earlier than expected on Tuesday as the conflict between Iran and Israel escalated.
‘We know exactly where the so-called “Supreme Leader” is hiding,’ wrote Trump on his Truth Social platform, referring to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
‘He is an easy target, but is safe there – We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now.
‘But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians, or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin.’
