A Toy Story children’s water bottle has been urgently recalled over fears that it could be a choking hazard.
Discount retailer Home Bargains has urged customers to stop using the product immediately and to keep it out of the reach of children.
It comes after it was discovered that the spout can detach from the lid, creating a small part which could block a child’s airway.
TJ Morris, the parent company of Home Bargains, issued the recall after the product was found not to meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.
The affected bottles went on sale from May earlier this year to coincide with the release of Pixar’s Toy Story 5.
Each of the products feature a blue water bottle with a red lid and it is decorated with characters from the Disney franchise.
Anyone who has purchased one of the affected bottles is being advised to return it to their nearest Home Bargains store for a full refund.
The following batch numbers affected by the recall include: 11449732, 11449736, 11449737, 11449738, 11449742, 11449743 and 11449744.
Only these batches are included in the current recall.
Customers can find the batch code information on the care label inside the bottle or from the product’s price tag when it was purchased.
If you are unaware of whether the water bottle is impacted by the recall, or if customers no longer have the packaging to check the batch code, the product can still be returned for a full refund to stores.
In its recall notice, Home Bargains said: ‘We apologise for any inconvenience caused.’
This comes after Home Bargains issued a ‘do not eat warning’ on a packet of Lay’s Sour Cream & Dill Crisps.
The popular brand of crisps were declared to be a potential health risk as they contain ‘undeclared allergens’.
