Mother-of-five Vanessa Trump announced that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and is working on a treatment plan.
The former wife of President Donald Trump’s oldest son, Don Jr, said she had undergone an undisclosed ‘procedure’ this week.
‘I want to share a personal health update. I’ve recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. While this isn’t news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan,’ she said.
‘I am staying focused and hopeful while surrounded by the love and support of my family, my kids and those closest to me. Thank you for your kindness and support, it truly means more than I can express.’
Well wishes have poured in for Vanessa, with Ivanka Trump writing under the post: ‘Praying for your continued strength and a swift recovery. Love you, mama.’
Her daughter, Kai Trump, shared a photo of herself and her mother on Instagram and captioned it: ‘Strongest person I know. Love you.’
Vanessa has been dating legendary golfer Tiger Woods, who was recently arrested for a DUI after crashing his car in Florida.
Woods has been dating Vanessa since March last year, and a source close to the couple told The Daily Mail that the pair held ‘crunch talks’ after he was released from jail.
‘She’s not happy at all,’ the source said.
‘She’s both disappointed and a little bit p***ed, if I’m being honest. It’s a definite red flag and she told him that he’s going to get this sorted out, and that she’s going to require that.
‘He has to get things under control, or she’s not going to stick around.’
‘He’s very apologetic, from what I’ve heard. [He] wants to fix this. He’s embarrassed, he’s mortified at all this… and this is really humiliating for it to happen again. And Vanessa is embarrassed too. All her friends are like, “girl, what the hell?”.
Vanessa was married to Trump Jr for 12 years, from 2005 to 2018. They have five children together, Kai, Donald III, Tristan, Spencer and Chloe.
Trump Jr – who may run to succeed his father in 2028 – hasn’t yet spoken publicly about his ex’s new relationship, but a source told People he was ‘cool’ with it.
After he and Vanessa divorced, Trump Jr. had a long-term relationship and became engaged to former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle, who is now the US Ambassador to Greece.
But he is now dating West Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson.
Trump Jr. and Vanessa’s 17-year-old daughter Kai goes to the same school as Woods’ children Charlie, 16, and Sam, 17.
Kai and Charlie are both aspiring golfers, with hopes of turning professional.
