Welcome to the Bay Area News Group (Mercury News & East Bay Times) girls Athlete of the Week poll.
For the entire academic year, we will provide a list of candidates who stood out over the previous week and allow you, the reader, to vote for the winner.
This week, we consider performances from March 25-30.
Polls close at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Vote as many times as you’d like until then without using bots or any other artificial methods of voting.
Votes by email and after 5 p.m. Wednesday are not counted.

Winners are announced each Friday online and in the print edition of the Mercury News and East Bay Times sports sections.
Candidates for future Athlete of the Week polls can be nominated at highschools@bayareanewsgroup.com.
We accept nominations until 11 a.m. each Monday.
We also review stats submitted to MaxPreps by coaches/team statisticians.
On to the nominees:
Cynthia Arellano, Overfelt softball: Arellano, a senior, had a day to remember at the plate in a 29-7 victory over Yerba Buena. She was 6 for 6 and hit four home runs with nine RBIs.
Hannah Cornell, Kennedy-Fremont softball: Cornell, a junior, hit three doubles and drove in two runs in Kennedy’s wild 17-11 victory over American. She ended the week hitting .600 with 13 RBI on the season.
Angela Gates, Carondelet softball: Gates, a freshman, was 4 for 4 with two doubles and three RBIs in an upset victory over Top 10 team San Ramon Valley. The freshman ended the week batting .515 with 17 hits and two home runs on the season.
Sydney Gray, Miramonte lacrosse: Gray, a freshman, scored six goals and had two assists in a tight 18-16 victory over Berkeley. The freshman has scored 30 goals and dished out 14 assists this season.
Susan Kirchhoff, Live Oak lacrosse: Kirchhoff, a senior, saved 13 of 16 shots on goal as Leigh took down Willow Glen 8-3 last week. The senior has a .614 save percentage (67 total saves) this season and is 7-1.
Nia Mapa, San Mateo softball: Maps, a senior, pitched eight scoreless innings and struck out four in a 3-0 victory over Capuchino. Earlier in the week, she went 3 for 4 with three RBIs in a 10-0 win over Woodside.
Ashlyn Roeder, Menlo-Atherton softball: Roeder, a senior, was 3 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored in a rout against El Camino. Earlier in the week, she went 2 for 2 in another big win over Jefferson.
Riley Sterling, Castilleja lacrosse: Sterling, a senior, scored nine goals and had two assists in a win over Notre Dame Belmont. She ended the week having scored 90 goals with 15 assists on the season.
Dulcinea Vail, Acalanes track and field: Vail, a junior, won the high jump event at the Stanford Invitational when she jumped 1.65 meters. Vail is also a standout on the school’s top-notch basketball team.
Lily Woodhead, Las Lomas lacrosse: Woodhead, the team’s senior captain, scored four goals and had four assists in a victory against Alhambra. Then she had two goals and helped kill the clock on a four corners offense in a win over Granada.
Summer Young, Menlo School track & field: Young, a senior, won a jump-off and cleared 5-5 to take gold in the high jump at the Stanford Invitational. Young also played on the basketball and flag football teams.
