Rugrats was created by Arlene Klasky, Gábor Csupó and Paul Germain for Nickelodeon, and was one of their first series that identified as a “Nicktoon.” It hit the air with Doug and Ren and Stimpy in 1991.

Initially, the series stopped production in 1993, but new episodes picked up again in 1996. The show was so popular that it also started a few spin-offs.
