Monday Night Football is great

Arsenal’s Goal Difference vs xG Difference for this season. Seemingly unsustainable performance bookending a stable-ish middle part of the season.

Underlying performance far from that of a title challenger, but you knew that already. pic.twitter.com/TxCjFPKYzP

Over time this is unsustainable but perhaps Unai Emery simply knows the secrets to overperforming? Sevilla probably shouldn’t have won three Europa League trophies in a row…

The other worry for tonight is that Arsenal aren’t as good away as they are at home. Watford are medium at home (10th in the form league over the last six games). They have some great players though and Troy Deeney is in incredible form right now – add the momentum of Watford’s amazing FA Cup win over Wolves and everything points to a well contested game.

What can we expect tonight? Watford will play through the middle of Arsenal, defend aggressively, win the ball high up the pitch and run at defenders. Arsenal will attack with wing-backs and look to create in the final third with their talented array of attacking players. Aaron Ramsey is proving to be one of their very best and only has a few games left in England 🙁

Not quite a “must win” game for Watford tonight given the other results this weekend – but still very much “would like to win”, especially if we want to show everyone we are the best of the rest. #youorns #WatfordFC
