Transit: Metro buses and subway services in Los Angeles run on a Sunday schedule on July 4. There are several bus lines on detour on July 4 for holiday events (click on the Learn More tab). www.metro.net
Metrolink trains run on a weekend schedule: tinyurl.com/4warz4ck. No service on July 4 on the Riverside Line. www.metrolinktrains.com
Trash: Pickup is postponed by one day beginning on Friday, July 4, for Los Angeles Sanitation and Environment customers. If your weekly collection is on Friday, it will be picked up on Saturday (July 5). 800-773-2489.
