WHATSAPP has introduced a new way to use voice notes.
The popular messaging app allows users to set voice memos as status.
You can now add a voice memo in your WhatsApp status
WhatsApp started testing the new feature last year, but it’s finally available to the masses.
That means you can change your status with your voice to keep friends and family up to date on what you’re up to.
The audio has a time limit of 30 seconds.
To access it, just add a status in WhatsApp as usual.
You should see a microphone icon on the bottom right.
Tap and hold it, then record your message.
If you don’t see it yet, you may need to update your WhatsApp.
You can wait for it to become available automatically, or you can force it now.
If you can’t wait, go to the App Store, search for WhatsApp and you should be able to update it there.
“These features will be rolled out in the coming weeks,” WhatsApp says.
WhatsApp always tries out new ideas with special testers first.
If you want to try new things before everyone else, you should follow our guide to join the beta.
How to join the WhatsApp beta
To download WhatsApp Beta for your smartphone, you need to go to Google Play on your Android and search for WhatsApp.
Scroll down the page until you see “Become a Beta Tester”.
Tap the “I’m in” button, then tap “Join” to confirm.
Now all you have to do is wait for the update to the beta version of the app.
Participating in the WhatsApp beta on iPhone is more difficult and has a limited capacity.
