Where, when and how much snow will Colorado get during spring storm?

A spring storm headed for Colorado on Thursday could drop more than 2 feet of snow in the mountains and 9 inches in the Denver area, according to the National Weather Service.

Between 6 p.m. Thursday and 6 p.m. Saturday, Denver and Denver International Airport will see between 2 and 7 inches of snow, according to NWS forecasters.

Other Thursday morning snow forecasts include:

The Eastern San Juan Mountains above 10,000 feet, including Wolf Creek Pass and Cumbres Pass, will be under a Winter Storm Warning from midnight tonight to 6 p.m. Saturday.

In northern Colorado, Rabbit Ears Pass, Rocky Mountain National Park, the Medicine Bow Range, Summit County, the Mosquito Range and the Indian Peaks will be under a Winter Weather Advisory from 6 p.m. Thursday to 6 p.m. Saturday.

Thursday will start windy and dry with “critical fire weather conditions” before the spring storm approaches in the afternoon, NWS forecasters said in a Hazardous Weather Alert.

Snow will start in the mountains as early as 11 a.m., reach the foothills after 6 p.m. and arrive in the Denver area and Eastern Plains after midnight, forecasters said. Rain may hit lower elevations after 4 p.m. Thursday, before the snow arrives.
