The White Sox announced on Wednesday their initial list of scheduled guests to commemorate the organization’s 125th season.
Former All-Star and member of the 2005 World Series championship team Scott Podsednik is scheduled to appear on April 11-12 during the team’s series against the Red Sox.
The family of 1972 AL MVP and seven-time All-Star Dick Allen will be recognized on May 3, when the team is at home against the Astros.
Two-time All-Star, six-time Gold Glove winner and former manager Robin Ventura will be honored on May 9-10. Jack McDowell, the 1993 AL Cy Young winner, will appear June 6-7, when the team hosts the Royals.
All of the listed participants will throw out the ceremonial first pitch, interact with fans in autograph sessions and meet-and-greet opportunities.
“It’s looking like he’s a front-line kind of guy for any team, not just our team,” catcher Matt Thaiss said.

Entering Monday, the Sox’ duo of Korey Lee and Matt Thaiss ranked first among catchers in batting average (.360), third in walk rate (18.8%) and 28th in strikeout rate (15.6%).

“It doesn’t matter how old you are, you can learn from any person,” Perez said. “I got a lot of experiences, a lot of people have taught me many things in this sport. I just want them to listen and make sure they can take advantage of that.”
