White Sox slugger Munetaka Murakami left Friday’s game with the Detroit Tigers in the third inning with right hamstring tightness.
Murakami, who entered Friday tied for the AL lead with 20 home runs, appeared to be in discomfort after running to first base. His grounder forced out Sam Antonacci at second.
The South Sider’s rising star from Japan was replaced by pinch runner Luisangel Acuna and was undergoing medical evaluation, the team announced.
