ITALY: Los Altos residents Tom Shoup and his wife, Ellen Barker, visited Italy the first week of September on a trip that included stops in Milan and a hiking tour in the Italian Dolomites, a stunning, craggy mountain range in the northeastern part of the country. “We flew to Milan, where we took a tour of the rooftop terraces of the Duomo,” Tom says, “before taking the train to Bolzano, the gateway to the Dolomites.”
