Chicago police detectives are trying to figure out what happened to a 1-year-old boy and a 25-year-old woman who were found dead early Tuesday on the Southwest Side.
Officers responded to a call to assist paramedics just after 3 a.m. in the 2400 block of West 80th Street and found the woman unresponsive in the backyard of a residence, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Chicago Fire Department officials noticed an open door and found an unresponsive 1-year-old boy inside, officials said the home.
The child was also pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Area 1 detectives were conducting a death investigation.
