Woman and two girls in hospital after stabbing attack in east London

A woman and two girls are in hospital after being stabbed at an address in east London, with a man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

There has been a major emergency response this evening following reports of an incident on First Avenue in Dagenham at around 5.35pm.

Around 10 police cars could be seen on the street, with an air ambulance also landing in the area.

One woman and a pair of young girls were found at the scene and were taken to hospital.

The man was also taken to hospital after ‘being taken unwell’, the Metropolitan Police said in a statement.

A crime scene remains in place, and there have been no further updates on the conditions of the woman, man or children.

The Met said: ‘Police were called at approximately 5.35pm to reports of a stabbing on First Avenue, Dagenham.

‘Officers, London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance all attended the scene.

‘A woman and two female children were found suffering stab injuries – they have been taken to hospital for treatment.

‘A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder.’
