Woman charged in shooting of 3 men outside Irving Park tavern

A 27-year-old Humboldt Park woman is accused of shooting three men after they were denied entry to an Irving Park neighborhood tavern earlier this month.

Isathtia E. Perez appeared in court Thursday and was ordered held in jail on charges of attempted murder, aggravated battery, aggravated possession of a loaded weapon and aggravated discharge of a gun, court records show.

A motive was not given by police.

On April 12 about 2:45 a.m., Perez allegedly opened fire from down the block at the three victims: 37, 31 and 38, who were outside near Irving Park Road and Francisco Avenue after being being denied entry to a nearby bar, according to a police report.

Court records show Perez, a delivery driver for a cookie shop, fired 14 times.

The 37-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken in critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said at the time. The other two victims were in fair condition, and were taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston and Advocate Illinois Medical Center.

Perez is due back in court Tuesday.
