Police are looking for the assailant who opened fire on a 33-year-old woman, critically injuring her Thursday morning in the Oakland neighborhood.
About 7:50 a.m., the woman was outside in the 4000 block of South Lake Park Avenue when a gunman got out of a black car and fired in her direction, hitting her in the chest and arm, police said.
The attacker jumped back into the black car and sped north. The woman was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition, police said.
No arrests or other injuries were reported. Area 1 detectives are investigating.
