Woman found dead in rural Arapahoe County ID’d as homicide victim


A woman found dead in rural Arapahoe County in August has been identified, and her death has been classified as a homicide.

The body of Grabriela Ibanez, 44, identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner Sept. 6, was found Aug. 23 by Arapahoe County deputies in a roadside field off Colfax Avenue between Bennett and Strasburg.

Deputies worked on the discovery as a death investigation, but the coroner’s office confirmed in a news release that her death was ruled a homicide.

The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to an inquiry on the status of the investigation.
